Could rise of tablets lead to laptop recycling?
07 October 2011
It has been suggested that individuals may look to recycle laptops as tablets become the most popular form of technology.
Aleks Krotoski, presenter of the Guardian Tech Weekly podcast, questioned salesforce.com's chief scientist and technologist JP Rangaswami about the influence of such devices.
Mr Rangaswami claimed that innovations such as the iPad have contributed to the "death" of PCs.
He described how tablets are not merely companion tools, but have become the primary means of using the internet for many individuals.
"There are things happening now because of what the iPad has done which is changing how we engage with technology," Mr Rangaswami stated.
It was suggested that PCs are on their way out, with tablets providing people with a more efficient way of operating.
Editor of CoolSmartPhone.com Leigh Geary recently commented that the new Samsung tablet range is something technology enthusiasts should look out for, as it is sure to be popular.
